As you may know, this sandbar is located just under the harbor bridge. Boats, pontoons, jetskiis and paddle boards are popular ways to get here. It’s a really a fun place to go for a few hours or the whole day. You are sure to find other vacationers hanging around playing volleyball, frisbee or, football, or just floating around. It’s a family friendly environment, and can be quite the hopping place during peak season. Find a way to get there if at all possible.

Harborwalk Village
Set aside at least half of a day to explore the shops and activities in Harborwalk Village. In addition to shopping, you can rent paddleboards, kayaks and jet skiis at several spots in the harbor. After shopping and exploring, grab a bite at Harry T’s or Aj’s Seafood and Oyster House.

The Jetty
Although it’s a bit of a hike to get out to the jetty, it’s a local favorite for fishing, snorkeling, dolphin watching and shelling. The rocks at the jetty separate the Destin harbor/East Pass from the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The sun sets directly behind the jetty and across the bay. Grap your camera if you’ll be there at sunset! It’s accessible from the beach or the O’steen Beach Access point.

Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park
Located just across the bridge in Fort Walton Beach, the Gulfarium is a great place to learn about sea life and see some great exhibits. General admission includes all of the exhibits, shows and training demonstrations. Animal encounters such as dolphin splash, breakfast with dolphins and reptile safari are available for an additional fee.
